The Kiwanis Club of Morristown has been investing in children and community for over 105 years. Below are the organizations we actively partner with and support — each one a reflection of our belief that strengthening children strengthens the entire community.
Serving children and families across Hamblen County and the Lakeway Area since 1920. “One child, one community at a time.”
For over 65 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Morristown has provided a safe, nurturing environment where young people can grow, learn, and thrive. Serving youth ages 7–18 in a 40,000 square foot facility, the Club offers tutoring, technology programs, performing arts, recreational sports, healthy meals, and after-school care. Over 25,000 young people have called it home since 1958.
Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold since 1972, Girls Inc. of Hamblen County offers after-school and summer programs for girls ages 6–18. Programs focus on STEM, healthy living, emotional wellness, leadership development, and problem-solving, with homework help and one-on-one tutoring. After-school transportation is provided from most local schools.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, administered locally through the Morristown-Hamblen Library, mails a free, age-appropriate book every month to every registered child from birth until they start school — regardless of family income. Building a love of reading from the very first pages, the program gives every Hamblen County child a head start that lasts a lifetime.
United Way of Hamblen County channels community generosity into its greatest impact, funding 21 local health and human service agencies that serve neighbors in need. With a 4-star Charity Navigator rating and more than 100 volunteers per campaign year, United Way is the connective tissue of Morristown’s social safety net — and a longtime partner of Kiwanis in the shared work of community care.

Since 1943, Kingswood Home for Children in Bean Station has provided a safe, Christian home for boys and girls ages 5–18 who have experienced abandonment, abuse, neglect, or displacement. Over 7,000 children have been served across more than 80 years of operation. Kingswood walks alongside children physically, emotionally, spiritually, and academically — investing in futures, one child at a time.
Founded by Carolyn Jarnagin after a chance conversation with a hungry child, Tennessee Food on Foot delivers approximately 5,000 food bags every month to Lakeway Area elementary schools so children have food on weekends when school meals aren’t available. The organization also provides backpacks filled with school supplies each fall, distributes food every Saturday to families in need, and ensures no child faces hunger while trying to learn.
A program of Holston Home for Children located inside First Presbyterian Church in Morristown, Hope & Thrive Academy provides post-secondary education to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Since 2013, HTA has helped students achieve employment, independent living, and community engagement — with over 80% of students working in competitive, integrated jobs.

Ridin’ High Ministries provides therapeutic horseback riding for children and adults with physical, emotional, cognitive, and social challenges. Through the unique bond between horse and rider, participants gain confidence, balance, coordination, and emotional healing. This adaptive equine program serves Hamblen County residents at reduced cost, ensuring access for those who need it most.

Young Life meets teenagers where they are — at their schools, in their communities, and in the ordinary moments of adolescence — building genuine relationships that open doors to faith, purpose, and belonging. Active in the Morristown area, Young Life volunteers invest personally in the lives of young people who might otherwise be overlooked.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes uses the platform of sports to reach and disciple coaches and student-athletes throughout the Morristown area. FCA brings young people together around shared faith and competition, equipping them to lead with character both on and off the field.
Opened in Hamblen County in June 2023, Isaiah 117 House provides a warm, welcoming home for children in the critical hours between removal from an unsafe situation and placement in foster care. Rather than waiting in a DCS office, children arrive at a safe house staffed by loving volunteers who offer clean clothes, warm meals, toys, and comfort — on what is often the hardest day of a child’s life.
Kiwanis supports scholarship funding for Wellsprings Counseling, helping ensure that cost is never the reason a child or family goes without the mental health support they need. Access to counseling can be transformative — and Kiwanis is committed to removing the barriers that stand between children and healing.

Stepping Out is a faith-based, accredited nonprofit serving a five-county area from Hamblen County. Through life skills education — including courses in positive thinking, anger management, parenting, emotional health, and financial literacy — Stepping Out equips individuals and families to break cycles of negative behavior and build more stable, purposeful lives. Their work directly strengthens the homes our community’s children grow up in.

Founded in 2001 in a living room in Morristown’s housing projects, Children of Hope has grown from 15 kids at a Friday night Bible study into a ministry serving hundreds of children and youth. Through community outreach, summer camps, education programs, and weekly meals and fellowship, Children of Hope reaches children who need to know they are loved, valued, and full of purpose.
A program of Morristown-Hamblen Central Services and the Citizen Tribune, the Holiday Hope Fund provides Christmas food baskets and age-appropriate toys to nearly 4,000 Hamblen County residents each year. Through Angel Trees at local businesses and volunteer packing events, the fund makes sure that no family faces the holidays without a meal on the table and a gift under the tree for their children.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals raises funds for children’s hospitals across North America, supporting life-saving treatments and research that give children a fighting chance. Kiwanis International has a longstanding partnership with CMN Hospitals, and our club is proud to contribute locally to this mission of healing children one community at a time.
Founded in 2014, HOLA Lakeway is a grassroots, community-based organization serving the multicultural families of Hamblen, Jefferson, and Grainger counties. Through educational programs, English and HISET classes, immigration legal clinics, youth leadership, and their Sankofa Center welcome hub, HOLA ensures that every family — and every child — in the Lakeway Area has access to the tools and community connections they need to thrive.
